Agios Andreas is a seaside village in the prefecture of Messinia, which is washed by the western coast of the Messinian Gulf. In 1908 it was recognized as a settlement of the then Logga community and in 1972 it was annexed to Logga village. Now the village of Agios Andreas belongs to the Municipal Unit of Aipeia, of the Municipality of Messina of the Regional Unit of Messinia located in the Region of Peloponnese, according to the administrative division of Greece as formed by the “Kallikratis” program. The area occupied by the village is approximately 1.5 square kilometers. From a geographical point of view, Agios Andreas is equidistant from the most popular villages of the region, Koroni and Petalidi, with a distance of 12 kilometers.
Agios Andreas Messinias is a tourist destination during the summer and is characterized by the beaches, the wide variety of accommodation or catering infrastructure, the children’s entertainment in the playground as well as a small marina where small boats and fishing boats are docked. There are also two large parking lots with a total capacity of 200 vehicles, in the southern and northern parts of the village. For many years and until 2009, an organized camping operated next to the beach of Agios Andreas, which no longer operates.
