Built by the Franks, in the 13th century, on the south side of Voidokoilia beach you will see a wonderful medieval park built with stones from the ancient settlement of Pylos and the temple of Athena Korifasia.
The most important reason to visit this castle is literally the view it offers, which will take your breath away. In front stretches the Ionian Sea and behind it the large lagoon of Gialova. In the North you will see below you the round beach of Voidokoilia and in the South the Bay of Navarino and Pylos.
